Website
According to the original plan, I was going to have my own website designed and created. However, I have recently acquired a SmugMug account instead and am starting to use that for more specific client based sessions. If you want to, you can go ahead and check it out at:
[link]It is still in its early stages as far as content and design, but it will eventually progress to something more defined and refined. Since it is an ongoing progress, it is updated only occasionally at this point.
Film
I recently went back out to shoot with the Yashica at the Dallas Arboretum and rediscovered the joys and simplicity of using film. I would love to shoot it more if the cost of film weren't so high. Spent $25 on just four rolls of Kodak with tax. That's excessive if you ask me. However, after shooting that day, I have somewhere around twelve rolls of B&W film that I need to develop and a couple rolls of color that I need to send off for developing. So after my next check, I'm going to pick up the required remaining supplies for developing and finally get that film developed. I don't even remember what is on most of the rolls.
The Mountains
Ah, the mountains. I miss them so. The refreshment, quietness and beauty portrayed by them in astounding. Being in the flatland of Texas has me missing their majestic glory. Every time I see photos of or in the mountains, it makes me miss them more. If I had the opportunity, I would go back to them without hesitation. The calm tranquility and peaceful endeavors enamored within their realm are inspiring beyond words. There is a feel, atmosphere if you will, embedded within their grasp that takes one's mind and lets it roam free willing to express and create without discord. It is a shame to be cast so far away from their grasp and creative aura.
It doesn't help that I continue to see such graceful beauty in others work from across the world. I would be thrilled to transverse and photograph the Swiss Alps, walk amongst the gentle slopes of Ireland, Scotland, England and the Faroe Islands, expedition into the lands of Norway, Denmark, Netherlands and other beautiful countrysides depicted by Eastern Europe.
Even if I cannot accomplish the expedition to Europe, I still want to travel back to the Rockies in Colorado. On our last trip there, I felt like I belonged there (at least during the summer). It was perfect while we were there. I don't think one could have asked for better conditions during the week.
